어제 사운드 클라우드(soundcloud.com)에 대한 소개의 포스트를 등록했고 잠시 전 다시 방문을 해보니 다음과 같은 화면이 뜹니다.

As its creators say, “It is a day to take a beat for an honest, reflective and productive conversation about what actions we need to collectively take to support the Black community.” We’re pausing as a company and dedicating all our promotional space to encouraging that conversation. And we’re pausing as individuals, to take care of each other, and to plan for action.

If you want to take action now, we encourage you to donate to the NAACP. For over a hundred years, they’ve worked to secure the political, educational, social, and economic equality of rights in order to eliminate race-based discrimination and ensure the health and well-being of all persons.

We believe in the power of our platform to support and elevate our Black community - employees, creators, listeners and partners. We are in this, not for today, but for history.

억울하게 죽은 조지 플로이드, 분노하는 사람들의 반항, 그 앞에서 군대와 공권력을 운운하는 트럼프의 기행... 불공평하고 부당한 것에 항거하고 직접적인 의사를 표현하는 것은 매우 당연한 일이지만 그렇게 행동하지 않는 자들의 기업들이 있으니까요. 행동하지 않는 페이스북, 마크 저커버그가 신나게 욕 먹고 있는 이유의... 반대와 같습니다.

COVID-19로 세계가 휘청거린다 생각했는데 그게 아니고... 트럼프 때문에 휘청거립니다. 그리고 현상은 아무래도 2020년을 넘어 갑니다?

조금 더 생각을 해보고 낸 결론으로...

"적어도 미국에서 코로나는 트럼프가 만들어낸 혼란 상의 하위 범주라는 생각을 하게 되었네요. 어쩔 수 없이 인정해야 하는 미국의 존재감 때문에 그 여파는 당연히 글로벌 단위로..."

"그러므로 오디오 세상은 절대로 정치, 문화, 사회 등 제 분야에서 이격될 수 없습니다"
