인켈이 만든 Sherwood 오디오들 (1) - 빈티지 오디오 콘텐츠와 판매, 오디오퍼브

1980년, 인켈이 미국 오디오 회사 Sherwood(1953년 설립)를 인수한다. 이후의 셔우드는 현재까지 이어지는 인켈의 대미 수출루트로서 그들의 활동상은 곧 인켈의 글로벌 활동상이기도 하다. 일부 기기는 국내에도 병행 판매되었지만 현지 판매에 국한된 모델들도 꽤 있다.

이하, 미국 셔우드 모델명을 기준으로 과거 인켈이 만든 모델들을 정리하면 다음과 같다.

■ Sherwood S-2770RCP AV 리시버
표제부 사진과 같다. 국내 판매기록 없음.

“…The audio amplifiers clipped at 88 watts per channel when driving 8-ohm loads at 1,000 Hz. Although the receiver is not rated for operation with lower load impedances, we checked it with 4- and 2-ohm loads, measuring clipping outputs of 108 and 102 watts, respectively. Dynamic power outputs into loads of 2, 4, and 8 ohms were 162, 171, and 126 watts. The amplifier distortion at the rated 70 watts into 8-ohm loads ranged from 0.004 to 0.01 percent from 20 to 4,000 Hz, rising to 0.045 percent at 20,000 Hz. At one-half and one-tenth rated power the distortion was even lower. ■ Sherwood S-2750CP/S-2730CP

30W급 S-2730은 단순 톤-컨트롤만 가능. S-5750은 55W.

■ Sherwood S-2620CP 리시버

(내부는 마치 산요 파워-팩기반 AD-2210과 TD-2000/TD-2010을 조합한 모습이다. 디지털 튜너회로에 번거로운 전동형 다이얼 표시계를 배치한 것은 논리상 무리한 일이나 다분히 “Digital은 Analog보다 비싸다”는 당시 소비자 관념에 착안한, 일종의 라인-업 전략 때문인 것으로 추정된다. 출처 : http://bosoboso.co.kr)

■ Sherwood S-2610CP 리시버

인켈 RD-2640/2620기준, 전동 다이얼 지시계를 삭제하고 아나로그 회로를 배치한 경우. (메모리 버튼을 볼륨으로 대체, 튜닝 버튼 대신 원형 다이얼 Knob 배치)

…The 1,000-Hz harmonic distortion into 8-ohm loads was 0.0022 per cent at 1 watt (it was below the noise level at lower outputs) and increased smoothly to 0.01 per cent at the rated 20 watts and 0.017 per cent at 30 watts output. When driving 4-ohm loads the distortion characteristic of the amplifier was almost identical, rising from 0.003 per cent at 1 watt to 0.06 per cent at 40 watts.
